Katie’s Krops is a charity “growing for the greater good” for nearly a decade, and we at Park Seed are honored to continue donating a portion of every sales of our special Katie’s Krops seeds.
This unique charity was begun by a 9-year-old child, Katie Stagliano, who grew a 40-pound cabbage as part of a school project. She donated the vegetable to a local soup kitchen, and when Katie learned that her single cabbage had helped feed 275 people, her cause was born. She decided to fight hunger in America and also share the pleasure of gardening with children everywhere.
A few years ago, Katie expanded her goals, deciding to start 500 gardens spread across all 50 states. Her charity began giving small grants to elementary school classes and other groups interested in launching community gardens. Step by step, crop by crop, Katie is helping others grow their own food, no matter where they live.

Look for this symbol on select Park Seed vegetable packets; a portion of all sales goes to Katie’s Krops!
The Park Seed vegetable seeds that contribute to Katie’s cause are marked with a special symbol. We are delighted to play a small role in this exciting charity, and we thank Katie again for launching her grassroots movement to teach gardening and increase the fresh food supply wherever these are needed. As Katie says, “It only takes a seedling.” If you can, please select any or all of Katie’s Krops items to be part of your garden this season.
