Why Giving Plants is the Best Gift This Year

With the holidays right around the corner, it’s easy to get flustered about what to get on your Christmas list. That’s why we at Park Seed believe in giving plants! Plants truly are the gift that keeps giving.  There are many reasons as to why you should gift someone with a plant. The most important is how they can help your health. Not many people realize how vital plants are to our health. They are the reason we breathe and can seriously change our mindsets. These green friends help lower stress and and clean our air!

Plants that are near your desk or at home can lower your heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory issues. Not only do they serve our bodies well but also our environment! Adding some greenery to your space can help your home or office feel more inviting and lively. Plants are also found to boost productiveness and create a sense of peace.

Giving a gift that gives means saving money and time. When you grow your own produce, you save so much money! You no longer have to worry about bagging your vegetables at the super market and weighing them only to find out that your 1/2 pound over and will now have to pay $3.50 instead of $2.00. Planting your own produce means that you will have fresh and chemical free produce. This links back to helping your body out! If you live in an apartment or don’t have much room for a garden, then luckily there are some veggies that will grow great in containers and inside.

Some perfect plants to give are Eucalyptus, Tomatoes, Coleus, Lemons, Sedum, Herbs, and others! Some plants that you can give actually have meanings as well. For example, when you give someone Lavender it is significant for love and devotion. When wanting to give good fortune, the Money Tree is best! It is easy to grow and your co-workers will LOVE it. Azaleas and Gardenia’s are perfect for your mother or to show love while Peace Lilies are sweet for a sympathy gift.  Give the gift that grows this holiday season. One that will last a lifetime!
